The three-mile boardwalk is the perfect place to spend the day or evening. Whether you’re interested in an early morning bike ride or romancing your significant other after dinner, maybe even trying to tire the kids out before bed, the boardwalk is filled with all kinds of attractions for all of your needs. The best way to experience the best of Ocean City’s boardwalk is to of course take that stroll – so here’s our list of the Best Boardwalk Activities:

Around and around and around you go – where it stops, no one knows! Hop aboard the Power Surge and see just how much you can handle. If that’s a piece of cake then how’s about something a little faster? The Hurricane has been an Ocean City-themed thrill ride for many years, with visitors enjoying the excitement of the fastest ride on the pier while enjoying the lights, the music, and of course, the increasing speeds! Both of these, and many more rides, are a part of Jolly Roger’s Pier Rides. You can be sure to have a blast going on all the different rides and of course the boardwalk favorite, the Giant Ferris Wheel at the Pier. There is no admission to enter and all of the rides are ridden on a pay-as-you-go basis. This is especially great because you can feel free to come in and stay as long as you like, leave for a bit and come back later. Passport to Fun Cards and the points on them are good any time and do not expire.

The only place in Ocean City where you’ll find a shrunken head, a 12ft tall Transformer car parts, one-of-a-kind artwork, the world’s rarest egg, and two-headed animals is Ripley’s Believe It or Not! Collectively, the space covers 10,000 square ft on 2 floors and has 12 themed galleries that include 500 exhibits and artifacts. Tickets may be purchased online and if you don’t have a printer – no worries, Ripley’s Believe It or Not! can print them for you once you arrive during hours of operation 9 a.m. to 1 a.m. A single ticket is $14.99 but you can also purchase Combo Tickets let you to bundle multiple attractions, the Odditorium, LaseRace, or the Marvelous Mirror Maze, at a reduced rate.

It can be “spooky season” any time of the year when you tour the award- winning masterpiece of thrills & chills that is the home of Count Wolf Von Vinderstein! Everything from riding around in the carved wooden ‘Coffin Cars’ lined up in the main entry to the distorted wall decor and demonic portraits that adorn the left wall of the lobby, will have you screaming for fun at the Haunted House at Trimper’s Rides. You will need 8 tickets to enter and it is considered family appropriate. Trimper Rides has been a family-owned landmark for over a hundred years and there are wide ranges of rides for children of all ages, and adults too! The Carousel another popular attraction and is actually the oldest continually operational carousel in America. It’s located in the “Carousel House” near the inlet on the Boardwalk. Tickets may be purchased for $0.60 each or 40 for $20.00. Wristband admission allows the wearer unlimited indoor and outdoor rides from opening until 7 p.m. Trimper’s Rides generally has some outdoor rides open, weekends only, anywhere from April to the first of May – depending on the weather. And by June 15th or earlier, all rides in Trimper’s Rides (indoor and outdoor) are open every day.

If you are interested in an early morning bike ride on the Boardwalk with views of the Atlantic Ocean – Bike World is the place to go. Renting only top of the line Aluminum bicycles and Italian surreys, Bike World has become the benchmark of quality equipment and service in Ocean City. Located in the same location for all its history, the bike shop is a local landmark and with delivery and pick up available for two or more bikes, it’s the perfect and most convenient way to get a bike during your vacation. If you’re traveling with a group, Surreys are the perfect way to take a leisurely ride since they are easy to pedal and steer. There’s no better way to enjoy the boardwalk! Surreys come in two sizes; the large can seat 6 adults and 2 small children and the small can seat 3 adults and 2 small children. In the summer, June – August, Bike World is open from 6:00 a.m. to 12:00 p.m. and during the winter they may open on weekends if the weather is good – they recommend calling before coming if the weather seems “iffy.”
