Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Set up schedule of rooms to be done by Room Attendants(Blocked & VIP rooms)
  • Inspect ALL of the rooms done by each of the Room Attendant’s in your Section. All rooms are to be checked (stay overs & check outs).
  • Report physical damage in rooms or halls to the Director of Housekeeping. Do this by phone/radio or work order depending on urgency.
  • Ensure that all Room Attendants from your sections have completed their assigned tasks prior to leaving. When a Room Attendant in your  area check with the other Floor Supervisor’s and the Director of Housekeeping to see if they are needed to help in another area or for side work.
  • Resolve discrepancies in room status with the Director of Housekeeping PROMPTLY.
  • Update the Director continually by telephone or radio of problem areas. Keep radio “chit-chat” to a minimum.
  • Complete wrap-up of Room Attendants at the end of each day.
  • Assist in monthly inventories
  • Supervision of the Floor Houseman, making sure he is keeping the carts stocked, closets cleaned, vending areas, halls, etc.
  • Help watch payroll, by making sure everyone is making the most of their time. You may do this by making sure everyone is back from lunch and breaks on time. Make sure they  are staying in their assigned work area, keeping with the allotted time for cleaning each room and punching out if their work is completed and they are not needed to help else where.
  • As your Room Attendants and Housemen arrive for work make sure they are in proper uniform with a name tag.
  • Call in ALL maintenance issues promptly by radio or calling 2035/2036 or by writing a maintenance ticket. Follow up on ALL maintenance issues.
  •   You must control the noise level your Room Attendants and Housemen make in the hallways and rooms. They must be aware of our guests at all times. Absolutely no yelling or loud voices at any time. Do not allow employees to gather and chit-chat in the halls or rooms.
  • Must be able to lift items weighting up to 50lbs.
  • Complete any additional tasks assigned by the Director of Housekeeping.
  • Ensure Housekeeping carts are not left in the hall during lunch.
  • Ensure all rooms being serviced; the entry door is propped open with a wedge at the bottom of the door.
  • Ensure Housekeepers do not sit and watch TV or listen to the radio while in rooms.
  • Walk your floor prior to clocking out; pick up all trash, strings, etc.
  • Make sure all of your housekeepers and houseman are off the floors before you leave for the day
