Upcoming Ocean City Events Near Princess Royale Oceanfront Resort
Ocean City is filled with special events and ongoing activities, especially throughout the summer months. Whether you are coming to Maryland for a specific event or are looking for things to do during your family vacation once the beach closes for the night, something is going on nearly every night throughout the summer. Battle at the Beach and Boardwalk
If you’re looking to add a bit of competitive fun to your trip, this basketball competition is one of the East Coast’s most popular summer events. No matter your skill level, this friendly competition on June 4-5 is a great way to kick off the summer. Hundreds of teams from nine states compete in various categories to advance in their brackets, and each team is guaranteed at least three games. Events are held at the Ocean City Convention Center and Northside Park throughout the weekend.
OC Air Show
Strolling along the Boardwalk is even more fun, with planes flying overhead. This beachfront air show allows you to enjoy intricate formations from the most beautiful place in Ocean City. While the Boardwalk is just a short walk away, you can also view the Air Show from your ocean-view balcony. This year’s show will take place on June 11-12.
Enjoy Free Movies on the Beach
Ocean City’s miles of beaches are one of the area’s top attractions, and you can enjoy free movies while listening to the waves all summer. Family-friendly movies will be shown on a giant screen every Monday, Wednesday, and Friday at dusk between June 1 and August 17 (weather
permitting). Free yard games, music, and other entertainment will also be available. Although specific movies may change throughout the summer and games may vary from week to week, the current schedule can be found here.
Play Free Beach Games
If you are not planning to be in town long enough to spend an evening watching a movie but still want to get in on the fun of sandcastle contests, relay races, and other beach games, similar games to what you might find at Ocean City’s summer movie nights are also available on their own every Tuesday and Thursday starting at 6:30 pm.
Taste Sundaes in the Park
Although plenty of ice cream is available on the Boardwalk throughout the week, this Sunday tradition gives you the chance to enjoy sundaes and live music in Northside Park. Weekly concerts of various genres run from 7-9 pm, and children’s activities and post-concert fireworks are available most weeks.
Watch Drone Shows on the Beach
This unique event takes light shows to a new level. Ocean City’s drone shows lights up the sky with light formations like you have never seen before each Monday from July 11-August 29. Shows begin at 9:30 pm.

Ocean Renaissance – Tides & Tempests
July 29- 31 features one of the most fun times in Ocean City, MD. The Ocean Renaissance Tides & Tempest event is Ocean City’s premier International Seaside Fantasy Convention. Come dressed as your favorite characters and get in on the fun with your friends and family as you walk the boardwalk, take in the ocean air, and escape to a time of wonder and joy with elves, knights, castles, dragons, and more! Don’t forget to sign up for the Walk the Plank Fashion Show and stop by the Bizarre Bazaar for clothing, accessories, art, and more from your favorite renaissance merchants.
Bikefest
Bikefest is the largest motorcycle rally on the east coast and Ocean City, MD’s premier event. It takes place just after Labor Day, from September 13-18. Musical acts include Disturbed, Travis Tritt, The Zac Brown Band, and more! The event benefits local non-profits and brings together bikers from all around the world.
